On January 30, 2023, the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn launches Spring 2023 Grants for both General Operating and flexible Program support. The maximum grant for this Spring 2023 cycle is $15,000 for one year. These grants are for organizations that directly provide under-resourced people in the North Penn region with access to Food, Housing and Basic Health Needs (including mental health & addiction). All applicants must hold IRS-nonprofit status.

In the spirit of Trust-Based Philanthropy, the VNAF continues to use a pared-down, streamlined Application, funding is intended for flexible use, and we offer feedback and technical assistance to applicants through the due-date of March 17, 2023.  Decisions will be issued within 45-60 days. Grant reporting will take the form of a conversation to ease the paperwork burden on grantees, and to build mutual understanding. Eligibility for either type of Spring 2023 grant is as follows:

  • General Operating: For those organizations whose total service population is MAJORITY North Penn
  • Program: For those organizations whose total service population is not predominantly North Penn, but who offer one or more program(s) to North Penn residents. Funding can be applied to multiple programs to allow for maximum flexibility.

The VNAF defines “North Penn” as the boundaries of the North Penn, Souderton, and Wissahickon School Districts, plus Worcester Township (all in Montgomery County, PA).  The relevant zip codes for the North Penn region are included in the application.  While applications must be submitted via the VNAF’s Online Grants Portal. the full list of application questions is provided as a guide for planning, in the spirit of transparency.

The Spring 2023 Grants are a complement to the VNAF’s ongoing, multi-year Inclusion Grants, aimed at increasing access to health and human services for people of color, immigrants and refugees, and English Language Learners in the North Penn region.
